FAN PROFILE

Spare a thought, especially at this time of year for this weeks Fan of the Week, Dumfries lad Willie Pool, Willie has had ten homes in ten years and is currently in Bergen-Hohne in Germany. He serves in Her Majesty's Forces in the Royal Signals which accounts for his nomadic existence. The things that Willie misses most about Dumfries are, naturally his family and strangely the pies and Bovril at Palmerston!!!

Willie used to be a ball boy at Palmerston and has supported Queens through "thick and thin" since he was just a nipper at seven years of age. Last season, when stationed in Yorkshire, Willie made it to almost every home game and made a mammoth twenty five hour journey up to Inverness and back. This season though has seen a new posting in Germany, so no games so far, hopefully now with this and the other unofficial websites Willie can keep up to date with the happenings here at Palmerston.

His all time favourite player is like many fans Tommy Bryce, who he reckons always gave 100% and scored some memorable goals along the way. Another popular figure ranks as Willie's current favourite player, big JT, Jim Thomson, who he reckons is totally committed to the cause.

His most memorable games are his first, Queens versus Montrose back when Harry Hood was in charge and understandably the League Challenge Cup Final versus Falkirk last year when we so unlucky not to take the honours.

The game that he wishes he had been at was that against East Fife last season when Queens hit form and as Willie says we "stuffed "them, he could have gone but decided not to as it was a Sunday.

Thanks for those thoughts Willie, have a Merry Christmas and a traditional Scottish New Year in Germany.
